Concept Cars
Concept cars have in many instances developed into a product for the general public. For instance the popular Ford Mustang line has seen many innovations from its concept car designs. Pontiac and Chevrolet are seriously looking into releasing their popular sports car model from their concept designs. Chevrolet will be the next american car maker to hit the vintage sports car route with their Chevrolet Camaro. The American car maker is having to rely more and more on new innovations to keep up with the Japanese automaker.
Car makers gauge the buzz for new features by using concept cars in car shows. If the response is overwhelming from the audience the automobile maker knows that he’s onto something. The next factor he must consider is the cost of creating and selling the car that is only a concept. Sometimes the expense is too high for the general public to afford and thus the car would not end up being successful for the car maker. At that point the car has to be scaled down so that it’s affordable or left only in showrooms. If it stays in that realm it doesn’t necessarily mean it was a failure. Instead it ends up being a research project for lucrative ideas that the car maker has at it’s side. Elements of the concept car design can have future application.

Sadly though the truth is those sweet looking concept cars end up in the parking lot of multimillionaires and billionaires. But for most of us we can all still drool over those sleek and curvaceous concept car designs.
